"late work night." The living room is bright today. Outside, the Los Angeles night hums quietly.]

[Robert sits beside Chase's bed in the SDN infirmary. Chase is unconscious,
hooked up to monitors. The room is sterile and quiet save for the rhythmic
beeping of medical equipment. Robert's eyes are rimmed with red — he hasn't
slept. Blonde Blazer enters quietly, standing in the doorway.]

five-dollar bill — a bizarre stress habit. He stares at the rotating bill
with unfocused eyes. When he speaks, his voice trembles with barely contained

[A heavy rain pounds against the windows. The dispatch floor is subdued.
Invisigal's station sits empty. Golem is visibly distressed and may refuse
calls. Robert takes his seat at the dispatch desk.]

News Anchor: We return now to news out of a shipyard in Marina Del Rey, where authorities have discovered a scene of brutal violence. Details are still coming in, but early reports indicate multiple fatalities.

[The room goes quiet. Robert stares at the screen for a long moment, then
turns back to his console.]

everything. Without a word, she slips out. Robert follows.]

uniform and into street clothes — she's leaving, regardless of the vote. The
